UAC to produce 18 MC-21, 40 Sukhoi Superjet New before 2026
MOSCOW, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans to produce18 MC-21 aircraft and more than 40 Sukhoi Superjet New planes before 2026, Andrei Boginsky, UAC’s deputy CEO for civil aviation and CEO of the company’s subsidiary aircraft producer Yakovlev, told PRIME on Tuesday.
“We have a comprehensive program of civil aviation development. It is a strict plan of actions divided into stages. The first stage is scheduled for 2023–2025,” he said.
“During the years, we are to produce 18 MC-21 aircraft, including six produced in 2024 and 12 in 2025, and more than 40 Superjet New planes, imports of whose parts were substituted,” he said.
Production of the aircraft is on schedule, and the company is doing design and research works for imports substitution simultaneously, he said.
